Black Maidens head coach Joe Nana Adarkwa has confirmed that the team’s qualification bonuses for reaching the Round of 16 of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup remain outstanding, despite the payment of their per diems.
Ghana are preparing to face Argentina in the Round of 16 in Morocco on Wednesday, October 28, with Adarkwa insisting that the unpaid bonuses are the only financial issue yet to be resolved.
Speaking to Citi Sports, the coach said the Ministry of Sports and Recreation had fulfilled its obligations regarding the team’s per diems but is yet to settle the qualification bonuses earned after progressing from the group stage.
“In terms of per diems, they have done everything here, but what is left is our qualification bonus from the group stage to the knockout stage of the tournament. That is the only one we are waiting for. Apart from that, everything is okay here,” he said.

Adarkwa, however, declined to disclose the amount owed to the players. Ghana’s Round of 16 encounter against Argentina is scheduled for 18:00 GMT on Wednesday.
The Black Maidens will be hoping to make a strong impression on their return to the tournament after missing several editions.
Ghana previously won bronze at the 2012 competition under former coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani, defeating Germany in the third-place play-off after losing to France in the semi-finals.
