The Managing Director of Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC, Edward Ato Sarpong, has said that the Bank remains committed to strengthening its financial position, improving customer service and supporting businesses across Ghana.

This follows the Bank's strong financial performance for the first nine months of 2026, which saw its profit before tax increase to GH¢478.5 million from GH¢447.5 million recorded during the same period in 2025.

Commenting on the Bank's unaudited financial results for the period ended September 30, 2026, Sarpong said the improvement reflected efforts to build a stronger and more competitive financial institution.

"Our financial performance reflects the steady progress we are making in building a stronger, more resilient, and competitive bank," he said.

He also explained that the Bank's improved profits, growing customer deposits and stronger financial position showed its commitment to managing resources effectively and maintaining financial stability.

"The growth in profitability, significant increase in customer deposits, and our capital and liquidity positions demonstrate our commitment to financial discipline, prudent management and sustainable value creation," he stated.

According to the financial results published on Thursday October 29, 2026, ADB's profit after tax increased by 6.9% to GH¢301.7 million, compared to GH¢282.3 million in September 2025.

Meanwhile, customer deposits also rose by 19.5% from GH¢12.85 billion to GH¢15.36 billion, representing an increase of about GH¢2.51 billion.

The Bank also recorded an improvement in its Capital Adequacy Ratio, which rose from 0.49% to 27.41%, while its liquidity ratio increased from 130% to 145.83%. Interest expenses declined by 36.1%, from GH¢565.4 million to GH¢361.3 million.

Sarpong indicated that the Bank would continue to build on these gains by strengthening customer relationships and providing financial support to businesses and individuals.

"We remain focused on consolidating these gains and positioning ADB as a trusted financial partner for businesses, individuals and the productive sectors of Ghana's economy," he added.

He further stressed that the Bank's long-term goal was to remain profitable while supporting Ghana's agricultural sector and the wider economy.

"Our goal is to build an institution that is not only profitable, but financially sound, customer-focused and capable of delivering long-term value," Sarpong said.

He added that ADB would continue to improve its operations and maintain its commitment to supporting agriculture and agribusiness.

"We are determined to sustain this positive momentum while remaining faithful to our mandate of supporting agriculture, agribusiness and the broader Ghanaian economy," he stated.
