UEW student drowns while swimming at Winneba beach

A Level 300 male student of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has reportedly drowned at Sir Charles Beach in Winneba.

The student is said to have been swimming at the beach on Sunday, November 1, 2026, when he was caught in strong ocean currents and drowned.

News of the incident was shared on social media on November 2, 2026.

"A Level 300 male student of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has reportedly lost his life through drowning while swimming at Sir Charles Beach in Winneba yesterday," Asafoatse reported.

Meanwhile, the university is yet to officially comment on the incident.
