Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (L) has sued Gyewu-Appiah (R) over something he said
Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has sued New Patriotic Party (NPP) communication team member Benjamin Gyewu-Appiah, popularly known as Benghazi, over allegations involving Ghanaian musician Fantana.
The suit follows claims that Ablakwa gave misappropriated public funds to the musician and was involved in an amorous relationship with her.

A writ of summons issued by the High Court of Justice in Accra on October 30, 2026, and sighted by GhanaWeb, names Gyewu-Appiah and Media General Ghana Limited, owners and operators of Onua FM and Onua TV, as defendants.
The writ directs the defendants to enter an appearance within eight days of being served, including the day of service. It further warns that failure to do so could result in judgment being entered against them in their absence.
The suit stems from comments made by Benghazi during a discussion on Onua FM on October 14, 2026, when he referred to Fantana as Ablakwa’s girlfriend.
He also alleged that the minister had given money he had stolen to the musician.
“Okudzeto Ablakwa has given all the money he took to Fantana. He is having an affair with Fantana. Ablakwa and his wife will go to jail,” he alleged.

The comments reportedly drew a strong reaction from Fantana.
Meanwhile, following the filing of the suit, Media General has issued a retraction and apology through Onua FM, where the allegations were made.
