She also revealed that Javits had hoped to become a doctor, a dream that was cut short by his death.
“I want justice for my son, that’s all. I wanted my son to become a doctor,” she said.
Javits was reportedly shot while on his way to school in the Bronx, New York. Police are searching for three teenagers suspected of being involved in the shooting.
CCTV footage reportedly captured the suspects, dressed in black hoodies and joggers and wearing masks, chasing after Javits.
Following the incident, US President Donald Trump granted Doris Adu Gyamfi, who is based in Ghana, a visa to travel to the United States to mourn her son.

Meanwhile, the New York Police Department (NYPD) is investigating the killing. Possible motives being considered include school bullying, a robbery gone wrong and mistaken identity involving a rival gang member.
