The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George
The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has said he has chosen to allow the law to take its course over an incident in which he was slapped in 2019.
During the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election at La Bawalesie on January 31, 2019, the minister was slapped and physically assaulted by some individuals.
Sam George said after the incident, he lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service that same year.

He explained that he later sent a reminder after his party returned to power in 2025, but is yet to receive any meaningful outcome.
The Ningo-Prampram MP said he could have used his position as a minister to demand the arrest of the individual involved but chose not to, insisting the justice system must be allowed to work independently.
“And call somebody as minister today and say that I want that individual who carried out that assault to be dealt with. It may happen on the basis of where I sit today. I've chosen not to do that because I believe that the systems must work, irrespective of where I sit or who is involved.
“I was a sitting Member of Parliament. I wasn't a stranger. I mean, respectfully, I wasn't an ordinary citizen. I was a sitting member of Ghana's Parliament, assaulted on live national TV. I filed a complaint with the police CID. In 2019, my party was not in power. That's fine. My party came to power in 2025. I sent a reminder. This is November 2, 2026. I'm the seventh minister in Ghana's Cabinet. I could pick up your phone,” he said during a public forum.
