Tarkwa, May 2, GNA - An official of the National Commission for Civi= c

Education (NCCE) has appealed to Ghanaians to re-examine corruption and

recommend appropriate local ways to eliminate it entirely from the society. Mr Francis B. Donkor, Tarkwa-nsuaem Municipal Director of the

NCCE, said this at the launch of the constitutional week at Tarkwa. He said the desire for food, shelter and housing were major challenges

and these had contributed to corruption in one way or the other. Mr Donkor said the week is being celebrated on the theme 93The State of

Ghana's democracy 2011" and that the country's democratic gains could= be

affected if conscious efforts were not made to eliminate corruption. He said there was perception that corruption takes place on a daily ba= sis

in the judiciary, media, police and other state institutions and if these

perceptions were not properly addressed the democratic growth of the

nation could be affected. Mr. Donkor appealed to all to join and make the country's democratic

processes safer, easily accessible to people and objective.
