Department of National Lotteries Pays 2.6 Billion Into Consolidated Fund

The Department of National Lotteries has since the beginning of this year paid two-point-six billion cedis into the Consolidated Fund. Last year the Department paid a total of three-point-five billion cedis into the Consolidated Fund. The Director of the Colonel Martin Gbikpi disclosed this to the GBC in Accra. On the payment of the 15 percent service Tax on lotto to the Internal Revenue Service, colonal Gbikpi said the Department is collating the sales returns from the regions and districts and will pay the tax as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, Mr.. Adom has said all lotto operators are supposed to file the monthly returns and pay the 15 percent service tax on lotto stakings by the close of work tomorrow.
