Accra, July 22, GNA - Mr Mohammed Soleymani, the new Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran, on Friday paid a courtesy call on Mr Martin Amidu, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, with their discussions focusing on the legal systems of the two countries.

The Ambassador thanked Ghana for the warm reception Ghana had given to the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran, and gave the assurance that relations between the two countries would be expanded and deepened.

He advocated collaboration between the two countries in addressing issues of contracts for better understanding.

Mr Soleymani said as part of the Embassy’s contribution to the development of the country, it had built the Iran Clinic, which it intended to expand into a hospital, and also engaged in agricultural projects.

He invited Mr Amidu to the Embassy to discuss pressing issues between the two countries.

Mr Amidu told the Ambassador that Ghana and the Islamic Republic of Iran had a bi-lateral treaty.

Mr Amidu said the Iranian legal system was different from that of Ghana and advocated a way of understanding the two systems.
