After both AC Milan and Barcelona endured 2-2 draws in their respective league games - AC Milan clawed their way back from two goals down against Lazio while Barcelona after taking an early two goal lead were pinned down by Real Sociedad – they now turn their attention to playing against each other in the biggest game of Match Day 1 in the Uefa Champions league.
Kevin Prince Boateng is confident that Milan can make an impact against the Kings of Europe and predicts a draw is on the cards. Boateng believes to stop the Catalan giants you have to stop Xavi and Iniesta from having too much time on the ball, describing the playmaking duo as the “brain” of the Spanish side.
“If I thought we couldn’t win, then I wouldn’t be playing football. I dreamed of a game like this since I was a kid. Nobody is unbeatable,” Boateng told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We have to stay solid and united, because we’re on their turf and must defend well. In attack we have exceptional strikers and sooner or later we will score. I think it’ll end 1-1.”
“If we don’t give Xavi and Andres Iniesta time to think, then it becomes very difficult for them to find the net. Those two are the right and left side of the Barcelona brain. Without the brain, teams cannot play.”
On who Milan’s brain was the Ghanaian midfielder had only on name in mind ““Who is Milan’s brain? Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Zlatan drags us all forward and is very important for us.”
