The Platform newspaper launched

Accra, Sept 21, GNA-Management of CFI Communications Limited on Tuesday launched its maiden newspaper christened: “Platform” in Accra.

Mr Lawrence Anyetei Adjei, Chief Executive Officer of CFI Communications, said the newspaper would focus on social-economic issues with special emphasis on the informal sector.


He noted that some of the newspapers are established to spearhead certain agenda neglecting the core values of professionalism stressing that the platform would provide solutions to the informal sector.


According to him, the newspaper would focus on principles of credibility, accuracy, balance, relevance, truth and professionalism.


Mr Adjei noted that the newspaper would support government in articulating its policies and the opposition to criticize the ruling government constructively to enhance democracy.

He noted that the newspaper does not owe any form of allegiance to any of the political parties and stressed that the content of the newspaper would set agenda for sustainable growth.


Mr Philip Sowah, Chief Executive Officer of Airtel commended management for its innovative approach but said the newspaper should focus on national issues and not on sensationalism.


He said every good newspaper must project the image of its contents and insisted on the truth always since many people do not have the courage to speak the truth.


Mr Sowah urged all to patronise the paper since its content touched on all spheres of disciplines including business, politics, developmental issues and sports.
