Accra, Jan. 12, GNA - The Human Rights Court on Thursday granted Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mrs Gifty Mawuenyaga Tehoda a GHC50,000 bail with two sureties to be justified.

The court noted that the respondents failed to show cause as to why she was being kept in custody.

DSP Tehoda, who is Deputy Commander of Commercial Crime Unit at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, had been detained by the BNI for alleged suspicious dealings with Nana Ama Martins, who was at the centre of the recent cocaine-turned-sodium bicarbonate saga.

She was picked up on December 29, 2011, after investigators from the BNI established suspicious dealings between her and Nana Martins, and had since been in the custody of the BNI.
