Ahead of 2012 polls

... Kofi Buah conquers Ellembele

*As executives declare him

unopposed

The people of

Ellembele are poised to retain their greatest pride as the executives of the

ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) are expected to declare the incumbent

legislator, Mr. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, unopposed in the party’s parliamentary

primaries slated for this weekend.

This event,

which is meant to officially outdoor him through a system known as popular

acclamation would also be used as the platform to highlight the numerous

achievements chalked by the MP both in the constituency and the country at

large as the deputy minister of Energy in charge of Petroleum.

According to the

constituency executives of the party, this unanimous decision was taken due to

the MP’s enviable track record over the past three years which they posit, has earned

him the accolade as “a promising legislator.”

Many of the people in Nzema have endorsed the

candidature of the incumbent saying that he has been “the true light of the

youth” since his assumption of office.

As one of the young politicians in the country, Hon.

Buah is noted to be among one of the most influential politicians the country

currently, one who wisely uses the least opportunities available to him for

wonderful opportunities to happen, not for the few but for the masses that are in

dire need of such benefits.

Despite being a fresher in the political environment

of the country, it is evident that the work that his outfit has embarked upon

within his three years as legislator is overwhelming.

Mr. Buah’s youthful exuberance led him to convincingly

unseat the long-standing “Ellembele Mugabe,” Freddy Blay, the former first

Deputy Speaker of Parliament.

It would be recalled that due to Hon. Kofi Buah’s

outstanding leadership role towards Nzema’s development within his short term

in office, the Chiefs and people of the Lower Axim Traditional Area, during

their annual Kundum festival last year, honoured him for his immense

contributions towards the rapid development of Nzemaland.

The incumbent MP, who is noted for his humility, openness

to advice and zeal to learn was cited in a research conducted recently which revealed

that the youth of his area feel much comfortable with his personality as their

MP, with very approval ratings.

It was therefore not surprising when the Paramount Chief of Nsein Traditional

Area, in the Nzema East Municipality of the Western Region, Awulea Agyefi Kwame,

at the commissioning of an ICT facility for the people of Asasetre in the

Ellembele District openly endorsed the candidature of the MP ahead of the 2012

general elections.

According to the chief, he was convinced that “indeed

the Western Region, precisely the Nzemaland is blessed with another star whose

light sparkles to every corner in the country.”

Awulea Agyefi added that Nzema is experiencing a

revolution of development after a long period of neglect by past governments.

He mentioned that “If a young man of such character is

bringing good fortunes to Nzemaland within this short period in his political

career why don’t we support him?”

He further reiterated that the personality of Mr. Kofi

Buah is not only an asset to the people of Ellembele but also stands as a

source of inspiration for the youth across the Western Region.

“I have personally encountered Mr. Kofi Buah way back

in the year 2000 when he was the President for the Nzema residents based in the

United States of America and Canada, and since then I got to know that, this

guy was really for real,” he added.

Mr. Kofi Buah, upon

his assumption of office as a legislator in January 7th, 2009, has

lobbied for many developmental projects for the Western region such as

electrification projects, road networks, potable water, and quality health care

and educational facilities among others.

He is remembered

for his leadership role that he play during the recent 3 billion dollars CDB

loan debate and his press conference on behalf of the Western region.
