Wed, 25 Apr 2012 Source: --

Ghana National Communications Authority (NCA) has fined operator Globacom US$200,000 for failing to launch as scheduled on April 20. The Nigerian investor was issued a telecoms license in 2008. Since then, Globacom has been constantly postponing its launch on various grounds including network sabotage from competitors. In 4Q11, after another failed launch, the company started offering potential customers the opportunity to reserve their number, when the launch date was set for April 2012.
