Movie, Music and Media Stars dare Black Stars

Movie, Music and Media Stars are claiming the bragging

rights ahead of this year’s Stars Soccer Fiesta Reloaded on the 24th June 2012

at the Baba Yara in Kumasi. This stems from the background that they have never

been defeated heavily by the margin the Black Stars won against Lesotho in the

Stars Soccer Fiesta since its inception in 2007 to date.

Played mainly by musicians fused with few other celebrities

over the past five years, the Black Stars have been victorious on all previous

occasions

but never by a result as annihilating as the 7-0 Ghana beat Lesotho back on

June 1 in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.

And it is with that pride that the celebrities started their

training this Monday at the Aquinas Park in Labone, Accra in their avowed

determination to do better this year than ever. Celebrities like hiplife artiste

Samini, highlife maestro Amakye Dede,

famous actor Agya Koo, astute radio presenter Abeiku Santana and leading actor Chris

Attoh all showed glimpses of excellent footballing skills at the well-attended

training.

This year’s edition of the Stars Soccer Fiesta will also see

a change of venue from Accra to the Ashanti Regional capital of Kumasi. Aimed at

preaching peace ahead of this year’s general elections, it also targets to

raise funds to support the Ghana Football Association’s juvenile football

programme.

According to event organizer, Samuel Anim Addo, CEO of

Asamoah Gyan Foundation, the Stars Soccer Fiesta Reloaded 2012 is also expected

to involve more celebrities and footballers more than ever with curtain raiser

matches scheduled between Accra Media and Kumasi Media as well as Greater Accra

best juvenile team against Ashanti best juvenile team.

Meanwhile, a road show is scheduled on the eve on the event

day (Saturday 23rd June) from Accra through Koforidua to Bunso Junction to

Nkawkaw to Kumasi to trumpet and echo the sensitization campaign on Peaceful,

Free and Fair Election as the nation prepares to go to the poll this December.
