Don't blame us for pharmacists strike - Fair Wages

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission says it cannot be faulted for the delay in the migration of government pharmacists unto the Single Spine Salary Structure.

The pharmacists have declared an indefinite strike effective Tuesday September 4.

They claim they are the only healthcare professionals who have not been migrated following an eleven month stalemate with the Commission.

But Director in charge of Grievances and Negotiations at the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, Cornelius Yawson, in an interview with XYZ News said the leadership of the government pharmacists must blame themselves for the delay and not the Commission.

“The commission has not refused to migrate them, the commission actually migrated all pharmacists alongside the whole Health sector, Doctors, administrators and Nurses.

“The pharmacists actually told us that we should suspend their migration, we actually battled but they went to the Labour commission to get an order to stop the migration…so we have not refused to migrate them”.
