Ahead of the December 2012 national elections, the General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has categorically stated that victory to the NDC is non-negotiable.

He said that he is confident that victory to the NDC is non-negotiable and that his concern is the margin of victory and not whether or not the NDC would win, adding “we are sure of victory it is non-negotiable but it's not my style to predict that margin for now we are keeping it to our chest”.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia, popularly called “General Mosquito”, who was speaking with The Enquirer via phone yesterday, during the launch of the party's manifesto in Ho, the Volta Regional capital, said that the manifesto launch is to build on the success of the “Better Ghana Agenda” mantra.

The Better Ghana Agenda hinges on four thematic areas of transparent governance, resilient economy, investing in people and infrastructure.

According to him, the manifesto launch was to implement the next phase of the “Better Ghana Agenda” , adding that, despite the change of guards from late President Mills to President Mahama, the manifesto would consolidate on the success they have chalked so far and review what they did right and build on it and where they fell short they would vow to make amends immediately after victory in December.

He said the achievements they have chalked within the last four years are the trump-card for victory and that they are intensifying the campaign to ensure a wide margin of victory.

Mr. Nketia asked all supporters of the NDC that they should be focused and be suspicious of the lies and utopian promises made by desperate opposition forces.

To him, since those making the unfeasible promises are not in power nobody is going to hold them to account, but for the NDC they are on course and would make feasible promises.

“We know we are wining so we are not going to promise what we can't deliver that is why our promises are modest and realistic”, he added.

In a related development, the Director of Communications at the presidency, Koku Anyidoho, has said he would contribute his quota to ensure that the NDC wins the elections hands down.

He said Ghanaians won't buy the free education of the NPP flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, because he wants to hoodwink and bamboozle Ghanaians but Ghanaians are now wiser.

Koku said President Mahama would ride on the success of late President Mills because in less than three years the NDC has done fantastically well.

According to him, the NDC has done much more in three and half years than what the NPP did in eight years, adding that the NDC manifesto launch is the tonic to victory.

He told Radio Gold that the marvelous infrastructure development in the area of education, roads and other amenities are enough to ensure NDC victory.
