Accra, Dec. 3, GNA - Emperor Gaza International Foundation (EGIF) a Non

Governmental Organisation (NGO) that promotes the well being of people

with disability through sports has admonished Ghanaians to be tolerant

before, during and after the elections.

EGIF, which has over the months partnered Turkish Embassy in Ghana

to promote Disability Sports in Ghana, in a statement said, though the

election is likely to come with many challenges, they are convinced that Ghanaians

are capable of surmounting the huddle.

A statement signed by Prince Charles Sackeyfio, President of EGIF said

“we wish to appeal to all political leaders and their faithfuls to

conduct themselves in a manner that will not spark confusion.

“As a body that fights for the well being of the disabled and less

privileged through sports, histories of elections that ended in wars as a result of

intolerance from political parties had left many people

losing one part of their bodies or the other because of war.” The

statement added.

It said elections in other countries have resulted in social vices with

outbreak of war and this has stirred EGIF and the Turkish Embassy to

call for peace during this critical moment of Ghana’s political

history.

The EGIF boss advised that whichever party emerges, winners should be

accepted to protect the country’s hard earned reputation regarding the

conduct of elections.

In related development, His Excellency, Aydin Nurhan, the Turkish

Ambassador to Ghana, a patron of EGIF has also called for peace in the

elections.

“We have always believed in Ghana as a shinning example when it comes

to democracy, you have demonstrated to the whole world that you are a

force to reckon with and we believe the forthcoming elections would not

be different.” He added.
