The National Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Mr E.K. Gbedemah has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), to control the abuse of police check-points in the country.

He said some policemen are abusing check-points because their aim is to collect monies from drivers.

The National chairman said in an interview that between Aflao and Accra, One can count not less than eight check- points on the road.

"One does not know the sort of duties being performed by the police, majority of whom collect monies ranging from c2000 to c5000 from drivers for no apparent reason," he stressed.
