...Dr Ken Kwaku also to be Honored
Editorial Desk Report
The worthy life of former President Atta Mills as a peaceful, tolerant and democratic person continues to receive recognition along the length and breadth of the globe.
Your authoritative Ghana Daily has picked up strong signals that the former Ghanaian president and a former Consular General at the Ghana’s Embassy in Tanzania Dr Ken Kwaku have been nominated to receive the Africa Achievers Award (AAA).
While President Mills is being awarded for excellence in leadership, Dr Ken Kwaku will pick up the top spot for the category of “Excellence in International Corporate Governance.”
The presentation ceremony is set to take place in Nairobi, Kenya on 23rd February this year and indications are that Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills will receive the posthumous award on behalf of her husband.
Principal Partner of AAA, Rex Idaminabo says President Mills was being nominated for the award based on his track record as somebody who lifted the democratic credentials of Ghana onto another level.
According to him, Mills in his political career opened his doors to all manner of persons and did not persecute his political opponents.
For his part, Dr Ken Kwaku’s record of working to accelerate business and unearth leadership potentials on the African continent endeared him to the awarding panel.
The former envoy has as an achievement his resourcefulness in developing, planning and managing the first ever Africa-Asia Business Forum (AABF) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in October 1999.
He was also an Advisor on major policy decisions for the United Nations Development Programme and the Governments of Japan and Portugal.
