Winifred Dake, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Phasses Beauty Training Institute, has appealed to government to focus on the beauty industry to raise revenue for the country.

She made the observation during the first graduation ceremony of the institution themed, “Empowering the labour force in the beauty industry through knowledge.”

Mrs. Dake said if government invests in the industry, it would help curb massive unemployment in the country.

“With such a fast growing industry, which is constantly evolving with new research coming out, it is important that all of us gathered here join Phasses Beauty in our dream of elevating and transforming the image of the industry in Ghana,” Mrs Dake said.

Eric Owusu Agyemang, chairman for the occasion and the Assistant Registrar in Charge of Technical Traders at the National Vocational Training Institute NVTI, said the industry offers job opportunities to people who express creativity and skills.

He added that the skills and talents developed through education could help them to become hairdressers, make-up artistes, estheticians, colour specialists, nail technicians and waxing specialists.

20 students from the institution passed out and received certificates in various disciplines.
