The Abudu gate has expressed shock at the Andani gate's boycott of the final proceedings of the Wuaku Commission probing into the Yendi crisis.
A statement issued in Accra yesterday and signed by the Spokesman of the Abudu gate, Mr. Amadu Kaleem said the decision of the Andanis, "amounts to constant shifting of the goal posts to enable them get the results they desire, even if it means sacrificing the truth, justice and peace."
The statement said the decision by the Andanis is nothing more than another attempt to undermine efforts at unearthing the truth, establishing justice and to ensure lasting peace in Dagbon in particular and Ghana in general.
The statement queried, "why is the Andani family, three months after the Commission of Inquiry they so vociferously called for started sitting, and after hearing 106 witnesses, now questioning the legal authority of the Commission and making statements subversive of its mandate only three days before the completion of its work?"
The Abudu gate also protested against "attempts by the Andani gate to hijack the Dagbon Traditional Council for their partisan and parochial agenda". The statement said the council is constituted by Chiefs from both gates and has a united cause.
It urged the government and the media not to be dragged into the pursuit of uncustomary and illegal schemes.
