The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has hinted that despite the fact that there has been a ruling by the Supreme Court for the refund of €25m wrongfully paid to Waterville BV Holdings as Judgment debt, the Government of Ghana coffers may not be credited with a cedi of that money.

According to him, it would be very difficult to implement the court order because Waterville does not have an office in Ghana at the moment.

In the view of the veteran Journalist, if Waterville BV Holdings does not voluntarily return the said amount to the reserves of the Government of Ghana, it would practically be impossible to retrieve it.

“How are we going to get that money back? Yes, we have gotten the judgment, but I can bet my bottom pesewa that nobody is going to get a cedi,” he stated.

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper disclosed this on Metro TV during a panel discussion on the fallout of an order by the Supreme Court of Ghana, on Friday, 14th June, 2013, for an amount of €25m to be refunded to government.

By a unanimous decision, the court ruled in favour of the former Attorney General, Martin Amidu, in the suit filed against Alfred Agbesi Woyome, Waterville Holdings and Austro Invest.
