VISITING Kumasi Asante Kotoko called off the bluff of Seth Yeboah?s Dawu Youngsters and made mince meat of them by humiliating them 4-1 in their Premier League match played at Dawu yesterday.The Porcupine Warriors, led by the striking trio of skipper Godwin Ablordey, Isaac Boakye and Nana Arhin Duah, dominated play for the full 90 minutes and earned a penalty in the 25th minutes, which was expertly converted by Ablordey for the first goal for Asante Kotoko.
Dawu fought back gallantly and in the 36th minute also earned a penalty which Ben Addo netted for the equaliser.
Kotoko maintained the pressure on the homesters and in the 44th minute Isaac Owusu dribbled the Dawu defenders and in a solo effort delivered a powerful grounder to which Dawu goalkeeper Maxwell Arthur had no answer, for the second goal for Kotoko to end the first half.
In the 60th minute Ablordey managed to outwit the Dawu defence and put the ball into the net for the third goal for the Porcupine Warriors to set the stadium alive.
Thereafter, both teams resorted to rough play but Class One referee R. M. Kwanning stamped his authority and issued a number of yellow cards.
In the dying minutes of the game, Nana Arhin Duah put the icing on the cake when he shot to the blind side of goalkeeper Maxwell Arthur for Kotoko?s fourth goal to seal the doom of the Akuapem highlanders.
