He said: "we have no right to call ourselves civilized people.”. In his view, Ken Kuranchie, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight, explained his 10-day prison experience after being declared contemptuous of court following a publication in his newspaper, said: "Ghanaians have no right to call themselves “civilized people” end of quote.

It is very sad that the Prof. and some few others would always choose to denigrate the rivals of their Political idols to accentuate any achievements of the Political favorites of theirs. I wonder why the Prof. cannot share his knowledge of whatever achievements Busia and Danquah wrought in isolation from whatever failures Nkrumah wreaked in his life.
Anytime one has to put a person down in order to enhance one's perceived eminence of another, one's personal confidence in one's beliefs appears very challenged.
I strongly believe that it is only when we assess the merits of another as they stand by themselves that the real worth of those merits show. The relative supremacy or inferiority we draw from such a comparison of two entities could hardly be objective.
We need to honor and celebrate the good that Busia, Danquah and Nkrumah contributed to our lives, and to the Nation's resilient survival. But that does not call for the denigration of one or the other. If we need to compare the achievements of individuals, we have to lay their merits side by side, and their weaknesses, side by side to come up with any effective and honest assessment. Without the appropriate juxtaposition of attributes of these folks, we would arrive at misleading, and farcically skewed conclusions.
By the way, would the Prof. ever tell us what he has ever done for Ghana all these many years he has lived? How has he ever served Ghana? We would like to hear some testimonial of how he performed his functions in any capacity in Ghana.
I did serve as a Forest Officer for over a decade, at least, before traveling abroad. I began in the very trenches of that Profession in Ghana, reaching to many a remote rural area to conduct various field operations. Then, I was assigned a leadership role in establishing sizeable Plantations. That was a modest contribution under very humbling environment. Maybe the Professor could boast of multiple times as much contribution to Ghana, until now.
And while some of us continue to live outside the country, if we consider the sharing of ideas to improve our governance and living conditions back home as any contributions, we may do better to bring the people together than dividing them.

Our Arab brothers and sisters have always considered themselves as Arabs, not Africans, and it could be that Nkrumah's choice of Fathia was a strategic move to help bridge the gap, and advance the cause of African Unity, which I think it did to some extent with the close relationship he had with Nasser. Nkrumah was not just a leader but an astute and visionary leader.

You are carrying this obsession of re-branding Danquah-Busia tradition and bashing Nkrumah and even his children, too far, and in that context you are undermining your intellectual prowess and objectivity. Everybody knows that Nkrumah was not a saint; he had his weaknesses and strengths; and so were Busia and Danquah. A more academic/objective approach, given your PhD accolade, would perhaps be more enlightening and befitting of your credentials. And, a word of advice: Please when you write, bear in mind the purpose of your writing: communication, and this always needs to be done astutely (choosing appropriate words, not just to impress) so that you can reach your audience. You are a potentially good writer only if you would emulate great writers like our own late Chinua Achebe.
