When Putin and other credible leaders rolled their sleeves in the service of their countrymen and allies, Obama wasted four and a half years making 'beautiful' useless speeches, blaming Bush, removing God from American lives and promoting sodomy, abortion and contraception. Meanwhile, nobody dare criticize him without being labeled a racist. That is the tragedy of the Obama presidency - the first black president - Nobel Peace Price before familiarizing himself with the Oval Office, critics gagged with fear of the racist tag and 'loyal' white Democrats surrounding him either afraid of giving the right advice or simply setting him up to fail so they can turn around and say the black man has no sense. The trickle down effect of War on the economy especially in the manufacturing sector and retail is huge. Also unemployment sinks.

Before this chemical attack hundreds of thousands of Syrians have already died through bullets and bombs but that did not prompt America and the west to intervene because they had nothing to allege as a pretext. So what we are being told is that you can die at the hands of a dictator through other means but the world is only outrage when chemical weapons are used. This is the Situation where one can use the unfortunate warmonger phrase of Akufo Addo " ALL DIE BE DIE" The question which arises here; Are the syrian children who died through bullets and bombs less worthy than those who died via chemical weapons? The west is alarmed because they could be the next testing grounds and should any Terrorist Group like Al Qaeda get hold of such nerve gas chemical weapon it would be even dificult to travel from A to B on a plane.

So in as much as I would not like to see another American adventure in the middle east; the rest of us are also not immune or invulnerable to the dictates of such terrorist attacks. That could happen to anyone of us. Either way the world is now a dangerous place to live.

Each day we will have to be thankfull that we live in a happy and peaceful nation. That said, Ghana the vanguard of African Liberation should not allow her Hands to be twisted by the west.

We neither face east nor west; we face Forward. God bless our homeland Ghana.

The UN special rapporteur on human rights, Carla Del Ponte specifically accused the rebels of using the nerve gas you are referring to.

By the way, it is also against international law to go and attack another country simply because you have "high confidence" that the government there is killing its own people! The US is currently supporting Bahrain that has killed more of its own people than this gas attack by the Syrian rebels!

By the way, why break international laws by not going through the UN Security Council, with the lame excuse that the use of chemical weapons is against international law? Since when was the US so sensitive to that? Who used the phosphorous gases in Fallujah?

Where is the evidence? General Colin Powell, then Secretary of State, looked into the eyes of the world and lied that Saddam had nuclear weapons that can be deployed in just 45 minutes. After capturing Saddam, and sentencing him to death, we are yet to see those weapons of mass destruction.

Syria is fighting a civil war and going there with bombs, is not the solution. Ghana is sovereign nation and should be allowed to make up her own mind or decision about Syria. Forcing Ghana to condemn Syria makes no sense.

When the United Nations sent experts to go and investigate the issue of chemical weapons about three months ago, the head of the UN institution in charge of such matters, Carla del Ponte, claimed that the only evidence that they had was that it was the so-called rebels that had used chemical weapons.

However, as strange as it sounds, because the UN investigating team had been tasked only to go and verify if chemical weapons had been used and NOT WHO USED THEM, the UN body has been silent on Carla del Ponte's assertion.

The US has taken over from there to accuse the Syrian govt of the crime without any evidence whatsoever.

It is strange that a human being who can put alphabets together to make some meaning cannot use his head in critical matters such as this?

Let us even forget that the same US played the same trick and lied to the whole world about Sadam Hussein and went on to murder him and his children as well as causing the deaths of over two million Iraqis - and still counting.

Do youthink these are just numbers? They are human beings like you and me who are being slaughtered like ants only because other people want their oil and natural resources by force to make life better for themselves only.

In the lead-up to the Iraq War, I researched, wrote and circulated a document to members of Congress which explored unanswered questions and refuted President Bush's claim for a cause for war. The document detailed how there was no proof Iraq was connected to 9/11 or tied to al Qaeda's role in 9/11, that Iraq neither had WMDs nor was it a threat to the U.S., lacking intention and capability to attack. Unfortunately, not enough members of Congress performed due diligence before they approved the war.
Here are some key questions which President Obama has yet to answer in the call for congressional approval for war against Syria. This article is a call for independent thinking and congressional oversight, which rises above partisan considerations.
The questions the Obama administration needs to answer before Congress can even consider voting on Syria:
Claim #1. The administration claims a chemical weapon was used.
The UN inspectors are still completing their independent evaluation.
Who provided the physiological samples of sarin gas on which your evaluation is based? Were any other non-weaponized chemical agents discovered or sampled?
Who from the United States was responsible for the chain of custody?
Where was the laboratory analysis conducted?
Were U.S. officials present during the analysis of the samples? Does your sample show military grade or lower grade sarin gas?
Can you verify that your sample matches the exact composition of the alleged Syrian government composition?

Which opposition?
Are you speaking of a specific group, or all groups working in Syria to overthrow President Assad and his government?

Have you investigated the rumors that the Saudis may have supplied the rebels with chemicals that could be weaponized?
Has the administration considered the ramifications of inadvertently supporting al Qaeda-affiliated Syrian rebels?
Was any intelligence received in the last year by the U.S. government indicating that sarin gas was brought into Syria by rebel factions, with or without the help of a foreign government or intelligence agents?

Claim #5: The administration claims intelligence that Assad's brother ordered the attack
What is the type of and source of intelligence which alleges that Assad's brother personally ordered the attack?
Who made the determination that Assad's brother ordered the attack, based on which intelligence, from what source?
Claim #6: The administration claims poison gas was released in a rocket attack
Who was tracking the rocket and the artillery attack which preceded the poison gas release?
Did these events occur simultaneously or consecutively?
Could these events, the rocket launches and the release of poison gas, have been conflated?
Based upon the evidence, is it possible that a rocket attack by the Syrian government was aimed at rebels stationed among civilians and a chemical weapons attack was launched by rebels against the civilian population an hour and a half later?
Is it possible that chemical weapons were released by the rebels -- unintentionally?
Explain the 90-minute time interval between the rocket launch and chemical weapon attacks.
Has forensic evidence been gathered at the scene of the attack which would confirm the use of rockets to deliver the gas?
If there was a rocket launch would you supply evidence of wounds from the rockets impact and explosion?
What is the source of the government's analysis?
If the rockets were being tracked via "geospatial intelligence," what were the geospatial coordinates of the launching sites and termination locations?
Claim #7: The administration claims 1,429 people died in the attack
Secretary Kerry claimed 1,429 deaths, including 426 children. From whom did that number first originate?
Claim #8: The administration has made repeated references to videos and photos of the attack as a basis for military action against Syria
When and where were the videos taken of the aftermath of the poison gas attack?
Claim #9: The administration claims a key intercept proves the Assad regime's complicity in the chemical weapons attack

Will you release the original transcripts in the language in which it was recorded as well as the translations relied upon to determine the nature of the conversation allegedly intercepted?
What is the source of this transcript? What was the exact time of the intercept? Was it a U.S. intercept or supplied from a non-U.S. source?
Have you determined the transcripts' authenticity? Have you considered that the transcripts could have been doctored or fake?
Was the "senior official," whose communications were intercepted, a member of Assad's government?
How was he "familiar" with the offensive? Through a surprised acknowledgement that such an attack had taken place? Or through actual coordination of said attack? Release the transcripts!
Was he an intelligence asset of the U.S., or our allies? In what manner had he "confirmed" chemical weapons were used by the regime?
Who made the assessment that his intercepted communications were a confirmation of the use of chemical weapons by the regime on August 21st?
What is the source of information that the Syrian chemical weapons personnel were "directed to cease operations"?
Is this the same source who witnessed regime officials mixing the chemicals?
Does the transcript indicate whether the operations they were "directed to cease" were related to ceasing conventional or chemical attacks?
Will you release the transcripts and identify sources of this claim?
Do you have transcripts, eyewitness accounts or electronic intercepts of communications between Syrian commanders or other regime officials which link the CW attack directly to President Assad?
Who are the intelligence officials who made the assessment -- are they U.S. intelligence officials or did the initial analysis come from a non-U.S. source?
Claim #10: The administration claims that sustained shelling occurred after the chemical weapons attack in order to cover up the traces of the attack
Please release all intelligence and military assessments as to the reason for the sustained shelling, which is reported to have occurred after the chemical weapons attack.
Who made the determination that was this intended to cover up a chemical weapon attack? Or was it to counterattack those who released chemicals?
How does shelling make the residue of sarin gas disappear?
The American people have a right to a full release and vetting of all facts before their elected representatives are asked to make a decision of great consequence for America, Syria and the world. Congress must be provided answers prior to the vote, in open hearings, not in closed sessions where information can be manipulated in the service of war. We've been there before. It's called Iraq.

Like you correctly stated, war promoting war around the world means more profit for the Military Industrial Complex. That is what drives their economy; so they have to look the rest of world in the eye and keep telling lies after lies after lies after lies; from their activities in Vietnam, Sudan, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, and now Syria.

People who believe them and respond unfavorably to this article are just as ignorant as American citizens who only listen to their government's lies and then believe them because they don't know any better. The are oblivion to the fact that there are always two sides to a story.

The American public is always fed one side of a story and then they pass judgment. Their media outlet never gives the other side the opportunity to refute the lies being told by their government, yet they cherish freedom of expression and the right to defend oneself.

The West could as well be responsible for the chemical attack in Syria so as to have an excuse for openly jumping into a war that they thought Assad would lose in a week when it all started. This man is one brave and strong leader who should be supported, and not condemned, by all developing nations around the world.

Finally, I hope Russian will NOT stand by when the US goes on their usual "destruction of sovereign nations spree". Examples: Saddam's beautiful Iraq is now an ungovernable country just as much as Gadhafi's economically vibrant Libya. All those Gulf States are killing and suppressing their citizens on daily basis but the West doesn't care about those lives being lost. People who jump to conclusion and believe the lies being told about Assad using chemical weapon on his own people should go and research American History; with emphasis on what it did to its own people as they developed their chemical, biological, nuclear, and conventional weapons over the years.

What about the thousands of Egyptians bulldozed to death after the overthrow of the democratically elected anti-Israel government? Did any one hear a comment or demand from the so-called International Court of Justice to bring those military leaders to trial for crimes against humanity? Yet former African leaders such as Taylor and Gbagbo are in prison in the Hague for standing up for their countries in the face of destabilization efforts fomented by the West.

African leaders Wake Up! We are supposed to be Sovereign Nations. Can you folks imagine how Dr. Kwame Nkrumah will be feeling in his grave? Neocolonialism is eating us up in a different form (bombing us at will into doing what they want); led unfortunately, by a Kenyan in the White House.

So far they have only provided information about the number of people killed, that Assad forces were wearing gas masks at that time and also that it is only the Assad regime that had access to delivery systems like this. No evidence has so far been provided. The Americans have secretly been supplying arms and technical support to the rebels with the goal of having another stooge planted in Syria, The aim is to protect Israel
The pattern is clear in that they want to plant their own stooges around the whole world. From Saudi Arabia, Egypt,UAE, Libya etc. The list continues.
I am still bitter about the way the CIA with the assistance of the Israeli Agents overthrew Nkrumah. We are all paying for this disruption in Ghana's developments.
They are full of bullshit. Look at the way they have been secretly collecting information around the whole world as indicated by Snowden.
Nobody trusts them anymore.
They have bugged the whole UN building and collecting information to be one step of everyone else.
When it pleases them the create the hype that the International Community should stand up. Their definition of international community is as follows:
UK, Canada, Australia and a few of some of their puppets dotted around the world. The International community cannot just be white skinned people. The population of their so called International community is less than 15% of the whole world's population.
They have cunningly managed to get Australia also on the UN Security council to drum up support for them.
The USA is the only country that has deployed Agent Orange, a herbicide, to kill 400,000 Vietnamese during the Vietnam war.
That is not in itself war against humanity. They have started to use phrases like Syria cannot go unpunished. They have made themselves to become THE WORLDS POLICE MEN.
they have got all these aircraft carriers all over the globe keeping an eye on all of us. They have got satellites sneaking on everyone monitoring our daily activities, troop movements etc. They have CIA operatives all over the world gathering information about every little shit. All that Ghanaians need is the ability to look after our families and provide food and shelter for them.
If Obama is concerned about innocent civilians in Syria he should first of all address the daily problems that African Americans face in their own country.
The Russians have asked USA to provide the evidence but all we here is all hairy fairy stuff.

Ghana is not an American puppet. Now they want us to accept gays in our society because their culture accepts it. It is not accepted in the African culture.

The Syria issue could be resolved as follows;
1. Let the Americans stop arming the rebels
2. Let the other nations stop arming Assad
3 Encourage the Syrians to understand that the country belongs to all of them and stop this rubbish
4 America should come clean as to all this rubbish in the Middle East from Libya to Egypt and so on whilst the countries which are their puppets like : UAE, Bahrain, Saudi etc have remained quiet.
They should admit to instigating the Arab spring in order to prop up stooges to protect Israel. America should protect its own black people first.

5 The UN should be reformed so that the security council should not have permanent membership. The council should serve the interests of the whole world. America is dribbling on about protecting their interests in the Syrian war. That is referring to Israel. Who is protecting the interest of Mali, Togo, Ghana, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Fiji etc

A lot of things come to mind when I read this article.Notably among them,nuclear proliferation,regulatory laws on chemical weapons,lobbying allies,international diplomacy,sanctions, etc etc.
I do not have the time on my side to delve into the above mentioned.Having said that,I think Ghana being a peaceful Country,had recently demonstrated to the World it's unequal stand
of zero non violence elections and elections petition to the admiration of the whole World.
Based on that record,Ghana could be the voice to recongnize with to condemn act's that could be dangerous to our existence without any prejudice by the Super Power.
Ghana being a sovereign Country the order seems to be too authoritative,though.
That does not mean we should be carried away by emotions to the detriment of international diplomacy.
