“Our own friend and brother Asabee wants to be a president, we highly commend him…he has done well. We never knew he had eight hundred and something million….Asabee the President. So far they are seven but I am most excited about the candidature of Asabee,” remarked Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr.
Mr. Asamoah Boateng, one of the stalwarts of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Thursday picked nomination forms followed by some placard-wielding party faithfuls who mobbed him at the venue to give him moral support.
Friday’s edition of the Daily Dispatch newspaper reported that the NPP will have a selected mini-election per its revised constitution if the number of aspirants contesting the presidential elections exceeds five.
Five aspirants; namely, Dr. Kofi Apraku, Mr. Osei Ameyaw, Mr. Asamoah Boateng (Asabee), Nana Akufo-Addo and Mr. Joe Ghartey picked up nomination forms on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Mr. Alan K. Kyerematen and Prof. Frimpong Boateng are yet to pick their nomination forms.
Speaking to the issue on Peace FM's morning show Kokrokoo, Kwesi Pratt congratulated Asabee for deciding to contest for the flagbearership position whiles sniggering.
