Italian giants AC Milan have set their 2014/15 pre-season rolling without Ghana pair Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The Rossoneris under new manager Filippo Inzaghi played their first pre-season game at the Milanello, and the Ghana pair were missing in action.
The Milan squad was put into two (Milan A and Milan B) for their first test game and the new side featuring new signing Alex, and other big named players won the tie 3-2.
Essien, though is expected to return to the Stadio San Siro as he is still under contract, is being linked with a move away from the club while Sulley Muntari has inked a new one-year extension to his current contract.
The duo have been given extra-time to spend after playing at the World Cup for Ghana but while most of Ghana’s World Cup squad members have rejoined their clubs, it is expected they show up in Milan soon.
Milan A: Agazzi, Zaccardo, Alex, Mexes, Constant, Poli, Piccinocchi, Saponara, Menez, Pazzini, El Shaarawy.
Milan B: Gabriel, Simic, Bonera, Albertazzi, Didac Vilà, Mastalli, Modic, Benedicic, Di Molfetta, Mastour, Niang.
