Sometimes it is better if we stick to our areas of expertise instead of meddling in subject matters that we do not fully understand. Mr. Kyeremateng, surely understands very well how to develop the economy of a country after all he is not only a lawyer but also an economist. He has experience in development and growing the private sector of Ghana. His prior experience at Empretec and Ministry of PSI attest to that. As you may know from where you are in the US, no advanced country has ever developed without the development of its private sector. The private sector comprises businesses within the agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors of the economy. So Mr. Kyeremateng is 100% correct if his plan is to develop the Ghanaian economy by growing our private sector or businesses. After all the private sector is the engine of growth of any economy. He is on the right path. We are talking now about how the Government should cut the public sector wage bill as it is draining almost all of Government's internally generated resources. So you see, Mr. Kyeremateng is not preaching trickle down economics as you are proposing. He is showing Ghanaians the best way to grow our economy inclusively and sustainably, driven by job and wealth creation through the development of businesses - Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises as well as large businesses that constitute the private sector of the country. In fact, Mr. Kyeremateng has shown us how patriotic he is as we go through the current economic crisis. Like other well-meaning NPP parliamentarians, he came up publicly to share ideas of how the opposition ruling party can steer the economy out of the current crisis. This is all because of love of country and demonstration of true of political maturity. We have not heard anything of the matter from the NPP candidate you have been hooting for over the years besides the normal criticism of the ruling party. Mr. Kyeremateg with his experience with the ECA knows very well about gender-mainstreaming. When he talks about inclusive, sustainable economic growth, it encompass, men, women, youth, and the vulnerable in our society. By the way, this is a very easy to read piece from you for the longest time. Please keep this style of writing so all Ghanaians can enjoy and not only you to write for you.

As a lawyer and economist does he have to be president to serve his country well? If Mr Kyeremanten truly loves Ghana and the NPP then he must conduct his campaign in the most decent and matured way, convincing the ghanaian electorate of his roadmap to economic revival and prosperity. Talking about age, height, handsomeness is very puerile, pedestrian misleading, deflective, frivolous, deceptive and amnesic. He's talking too much but saying very little in effect . I wish his campaign can give in-depth information on the way forward and stay away from the trash talking and irrelevant issues that breed animosity and weaken the party from within. When that is done he can leave the decision to the voters. As for the far right republican trickle down or crony capitalism it has created a super wealthy one per cent class leaving the 99 per cent to hang in there. The american 99 per cent detest and reject it. We don't need it in Ghana either.

I see that you want to remain in poverty in Ghana. If that is the case we should be quiet and not talk about hardship in the country now. Because I can tell you that those who have cash are not complaining much despite what is going on now. Even if he is call Alan cash I see that to be positive and not negative as you view it. He is saying to the men and women in the country that if you work hard there is going to be incentives or rewards for you. If there is work for everyone in the country and everyone is having cash or money to spend, is it not what we call economic growth? I will rather vote for the one who will bring prosperity to all Ghanaians than someone who just want to be president but devoid of any meaningful ideas.

Okooampa always reminds me of my gran parents days when he who spoke big words like - tintinnabulations, 'shokolokobangoshe'etc at public gathering were proudly regarded as scholars and the educated. Sadly, this is the mentality and the attitude of our Phd holder, Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe Okyeniba.
Unfortunately, Okoampa never writes or says anything sensible than his usual hatred to those he disagree views with and he simply enjoys his tribal war mongering like his cohorts, Gabby Otchere Darko, Nana Akufo Addo Okyehene and Atta Akyea all of the Kyebi dog eating (ogwan korkor) 'tigari' clan.

It's sad the Nana Addo fanatics are repeating the same mistakes they have been doing since 2000.
Election is all about the masses involvement and not just for an elite group. Allan's campaign is all about issues and never against rival candidates.
I will be very happy if Mr. Kyeremateng wins this time. It should be NPP come 2016. God bless us all.

Prof., discussing the brand of Economics Alan might want to apply to our Country's governance versus what Akufo-Addo has for us is one essential service, and I wish you had stuck with just that. Diverging into who might be perceived as impudent, arrogant and rude by the Public or Electorate brings you to a very slippery road.
The fact that Akufo-Addo is much more widely known in Ghana to be all the above cannot be overemphasized. Ever since Nana got into the track to compete for the Nation's Presidency, he has always born the burden of the Publics' perception of being the most arrogant, rude, insensitive, hyper-elitist and bigoted of all the candidates that have ever paraded our corridors of Political contest.
Many have given instances of Akufo-Addo's short-fused temperament on display in various accounts on this forum. So, if I were you, I would not cite those attributes for weaponry to shoot down Alan's quest for the NPP flagbearership. You might have just opened a can of worms to reinvigorate others' attack on Akufo-Addo with those traits.
If just one instance of Alan's show of arguably justifiable petulence to a few Party 'honchos' is such a big deal with which to derail his presidential quest, then the numerous and worse display of gross, dehumanizing, disdain for larger sector of our Population by Akufo-Addo should disqualify him from even leading a handful of Citizens in anything relating to governance.
Ghanaians are yet to hear even a semblance of an apology from Akufo-Addo on his infamous "Yen Akanfo de.." diatribe, for example, going on a couple of years since. And now all of a sudden he is an angelic model who could charm all Ghanaians for their votes to become the next President, huh?
Naaaa!!! I don't think so. But you are right about one other thing, too. And that is, Ghanaians may not have as short a memory as some would have us believe. Yup! Let's keep that in mind, Sir.
However, by the way, isn't Alan's Economic Policies the same as Kufuor's that Akufo-Addo was comfortably part of for two long terms? Never did we hear the former Attorney-General and Foreign Minister, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, show the dimmest flicker of disagreement with that kind of Economics. Now, you brand the same Economics as similar to the deplorable, ignoble 'Reaganomics'--popularly known as "Trickle-Down" Economics. What changed? Could you give us some insight into the differences Alan's policies suggest between the two, Prof.? We may be charitably treated to one of your august Professorial enlightening moments. It could be an "ah-huh" moment for many of us.
Distinguishing between the meritorious credits of these two candidates must not descend into some nasty character assassination duel, or NPP ends up sucking it all up to lag behind.

'Alan Cash' was imposed on the man because of his slogan in the 2007 primaries.
