Serlormey To Refund ?10.4 Billion

The government has initiated moves to make Mr. Victor Selormey, the former Deputy Minister of Finance who is now serving an eight-year jail term, refund an amount of 1.2 million dollars (?10.440 billion), he transferred to a consultant and a friend, Dr. Frederick Owusu-Buadu for the court computerization project.

The EVENING NEWS has sighted a letter from the Minister of Finance, Mr. Yaw Osafo Maafo to the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice which states that it is important that the money is refunded to the state and that the Minister of Justice, Nana Akufo-Addo should use the necessary legal means to get the money refunded.

A similar move, according to the report, is being initiated by the Ministry of Finance to make Mrs. Juliet Cotton, the woman at the centre of the Quality Grain Scandal, to also refund 20 million dollars to the government.
