Tue, 23 Dec 1997 Source: --

A 25-year-old Ghanaian woman married to an Austrian working for GAFCO, Mrs Emelia Wilflinseder, was asked by two policemen at the Tema Community Two Police Station to strip naked when she went there to report a case of assault against her by the husband, the Ghanaian Chronicle has learnt. And as Mrs Wilflinseder said she undressed at the police station, Mrs Hannah Tetteh-Kpodor, a lawyer for the husband, watched with glee one of the of themost dehumanizing act against womanhood. Mrs Teeteh-Kpodor is married with two children. Mrs Tetteh-Kpodor told the Ghanaian Chronicle that Emelia undressed out of her own volition. But the ASP in-charge of the station has denied that Emelia was asked to strip. "No sane policeman will behave so", he said.
