The Fourth Ashanti Regional Inter-District Primary Schools under - 12 sports festival ended at Nkawie in the Atwima District at the weekend with Sekyere West emerging as the soccer champions. They put up a spirited performance to beat Afigya-Sekyere 6-5 on penalties to sin the soccer trophy. Ahafo-Ano South beat Adansi West in the netball finals to lift the trophy while Ejura/Sekyedumasi and Kumasi Metropolis collected the table tennis boys and girls trophies respectively. Master Osei Frimpong of Afigya/Sekyere was voted the best soccer player with Fosu Agyeiwaah of Ahafo-Ano South emerging the best netball player. In the table tennis, Kwabena Tawiah of Ejura-Sekyeduamase won the boy's title while Dina Opoku of Kumasi had the girls. In his closing address, Mr.. T.A. Boateng, the Ashanti Regional Director of Education, said the Ghana Education Service has adopted the "Catch them young policy" hence the festival.
