A former Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital, Reverend Albert Okpoti Botchway, who was sacked after a series of agitations by workers of the hospital’s pharmacy, has revealed that he is pleased he stepped aside from the "rotten" major referral health post.

His comments come after the director of Pharmacy and nine other workers of the Hospital were interdicted for misappropriating GHC946, 574.29.

The other employees interdicted include a pharmacy manager, a principal pharmacist, 3 senior pharmacists, 2 pharmacy accountants, the chief cashier and a stores assistant.

Speaking on Starr Today on Starr 103.5FM Thursday, Rev. Okpoti told Bernard Nasara Saibu that Ghanaians will soon know the truth about the third largest hospital in Africa.

“I am just happy I stepped aside; I had to step aside for the forensic audit to be done. If I were there somebody might have thought that I would influence [something]. Posterity judges all things.

“So I think that now that things are coming out people would have to judge rationally, logically what went on and why what happened, happened,” Rev. Okpoti said.

He added that the facts emerging from the government hospital clearly show that it is a rotten health centre.
