No more nkrumaism, young pioneers, kankan nyame, socialism, comunism and killing of political opponents. Nkrumah was so evil that his own CPP cronies led by Tawiah Adamafio decided to finish him at Kulungugu because al that time Nkrumah had killed all oponents in Nsawam Kwame Nkrumah Killing Field and others went into exile. It was a rule of terror

Abrefa, you also forgot to mention the fact that a precondition which is enshrined in their charter states inter alia that, African members of the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF QUASI-INTELLECTUALS, must as of necessity, be totally compliant to the whims, caprices and pleasures of colonialism as well as the psychologically debilitating after-effects of slavery.
It continues in their charter that; members must also, as a precondition, show testimony to the fact that they have never ever, in their individual life times, or in association with others, ever associated with the tenets of Pan Africanism, the independence movement of Africa nor indeed any of the nationalist anti-colonial and anti-imperialist movements in Africa up to the present.
In the preamble to the charter of INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF QUASI-INTELLECTUALS - African membership section, it states quite explicitly and unequivocally that, any member who is found to have morally or even physically associated with the enemy - and these include, 'BLACKlisted' persons including principally;
Marcus Garvey
William DuBois
George Padmore
Sylvester Williams
Kwame Nkrumah
Patrice Lumumba
Robert Mugabe
Amilcar Cabral
Gamal Abdel Nasser
Muamar Ghadafi
Sekou Toure
Cheik Anta Diop
Malcolm X
Richard Wright
Rev Al Sharpton
Jesse Jackson
Martin Luther King etc etc.
Members who violate this rule will be severely sanctioned with possible eviction from the organization or at the very minimum, labeled (branded) as turn-coats, traitors and collaborators of the enemy.
It goes on further: For the avoidance of doubt, any moral or physical association - as indicated above, with the enemy includes, acts of commission or omission such as, inadvertently mentioning their names - in public or privately and in any way other than to demonize or vilify them;
- Reading or seen to be holding any literature authored by, dedicated to, edited by or written in favor of the activities of any of the aforementioned persons.
- Physical association includes, God forbid, shaking hands with or being present within 10 feet of any such person at any event and public occasion or, with any of their assigns and political successors - including their off-spring.
Abrefa, if you turn to page 85 paragraph of the statutes of this organization, you will see in black and white, this and many more.
And Oh! lest I forget. Please kindly refer to page 102 of the manual where it states inter alia that, "members are to familiarize themselves with the contents of the manual titled, HAND-BOOK FOR IMPERIALIST PIMPS, NEOCOLONIALIST VERMIN AND NATIONALIST TRAITORS. This manual is freely available only to those for whom it is intended for, at all foreign institutions (diplomatic & business) that have identified and conscripted 'local assets' for secret operations against nationalist govts and personalities." It goes on, "This book is of vital importance for locally based and foreign based 'asset operatives' (agents) to address the tricky issue of discreet compensation, patronage of identified assets and the management of discharged buffoon agents who blow the cover of secret operations by going to unconcerned institutions to demand unearned payment for retired operations.

"Nkrumah went to England in 1945 and enrolled at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He undertook the study of law but failed the course, probably as a result of his many outside activities in student organizations. He helped set up the fifth Pan-African Congress, held in Manchester in 1945, which endorsed a program of revolutionary rather than evolutionary African nationalism.
During his stay in the UK, he was sought out by leftists and Communists and learned much from them about organization and agitation•: He has, however, vigorously denied ever having been a member of •the Communist Party, although he attended meetings in London."

Nkrumah was caught between the East and West. A leader as wise like him, should have lied low and focused on developing his nation than trying to be "too smart" on the international scene. In those days, there was no chance for any leader emerging from the continent of Africa to be allowed to have his way.
Nkrumah should have let go that "African Unity" and rather put all effort in developing his new nation to the envy of all with tough statutes to stand the test of time.
We are all paying dearly for those mistakes. My beef with him was, why was he so focused on uniting the continent at a time the Western and Eastern powers were all over the place? He knew he was playing with fire. As we speak, are we that safe from that "cold war" meddling? We are still depending on donor to support our budget and that will not stop anytime soon.
Nkrumah did pretty well but in the end, he was trying to be too over zealous, inflated ego and power drunk. He paved no room for the opposition by imprisoning them without trial which was wrong. We understand that most nation developed through clenching fist of a dictator but I don't think Ghanaians were ready for that. The man could have taken the steady and gradual path to whatever he wanted for Ghana but he was in a hurry as if there was no tomorrow.

Pelicles I do not expect intellectuals writing intelligently. When the United Nations was formed to of the founding members who still hold the right to veto were socialist states, and China is still a socialist state. Thus a person who believes that China and other socialist countries do not have the right to self determination should rewrite the UN conventions and expunge the right to self determination from it. How can a nation independent, with the right to self determination, that is chossing your own socioeconomic system be a subject of control of another. Pelicles can you tell us were the dust of Patrice Lumumba was buried and what about that of Osama Bin Laden (Osaman the son of a none-believer). It is a fact that CPP ministers, members and supporters who were keep in prison from 1966 to 1972 were not tried. A hard working man in my village called Kushitor dead a few days after he was released from Busia's Protective Detention Custody by Col. Ignatius Kutu Acheampong. What is the difference between Prevention Detention Custody and Protective Detention Custody? Or the difference is that the former was passed by parliament under the Premiership of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Let us make informed and intellectual debate on the web, deprived of unintelligent, and unprofessional bigotry.

Pelicles, there was no palpable or even viable opposition at the time of Nkrumah. If you are referring to that terrorist ethnocentric group that had reduced the newly independent state of Ghana to a battle field, then you have got it all wrong and you must think again.
By your same distorted logic, are you telling me that the US for example, should engage ISIS, Al Qaeeda, Boko Haram and other similar groups in discussions as legitimate international partners? Come on wake up!
Again you say that, "In those days, there was no chance for any leader emerging from the continent of Africa to be allowed to have his way." "ALLOWED?" You still in this day and age think that people are ALLOWED to have their independence, human rights and freedom? Damn!!!!! What school did you go to?
Of course we still depend on donor support to run this country because after Nkrumah, our country has now been reduced to what is called a neocolonialist state (renewed colonialism). The imperialists call the shots for us and they determine, through the manipulation of our institutions that their weak and corrupt surrogates eventually become leaders of this country. They manipulate us this way so that, that arrangement can be sustained whilst they continue to loot and benefit from our resources for virtually no returns for our benefit whilst we continue to be poor and deprived.
Nkrumah was not the victim of any cold war. Nkrumah and Africa were the victims of imperialism. In fact we still are, more than at that time.
For your information, essentially, the cold war was a struggle between the ideologies of imperialism including all those who think that the world and all its resources and people belong to and should be to their sole benefit and profit alone. Why do you think the socialists/communists were supporting African nationalists fighting for independence against those imperialists who had suppressed and oppressed us for over 500 years without as much as establishing common hospitals, schools, houses for the indigenous Africans? Why? Do you ever ask yourself questions?
You say, "In those days, there was no chance for any leader emerging from the continent of Africa to be allowed to have his way." I ask you, is there any way for any African leader today to have his/her way? Of course not. In other words, what you are in fact saying in a nice way is that, African leaders should not fight or struggle for their freedom and independence as well as for anything that they aspire for in life because they might get hurtb trying to do so. Are you saying that we must all learn, like you, to be cowards and stooges to imperialist slavery and oppression forever? You are an ungrateful little piece of shit for saying that we are paying for the mistakes of Nkrumah.
Is the freedom, independence as well as the democratic rights of yourself as well as those of over 1.4 billion Black people all over the world, the mistake that Kwame Nkrumah committed? Which part of hell do you come from? Please go back there and leave the Black people who want to struggle for their God-given rights and civil liberties, alone. Unbelievable!
So by the way, do you consider the US as a despotic country for also endlessly imprisoning without trial and summarily killing terrorists all over the world?

Outside Ghana, he portrayed himself as the "messiah" of Africa while at home he indulged in wanton imprisonment of his own people and introduced the culture of fear into the society. He was seen as good for Africa but a very wicked power drunk individual by many Ghanaians! In my opinion, February 24th should be introduced on the Ghanaian calender as the day of Libration!
