The family of Ghana’s first ever President who died sitting on the state throne has declared to lead a campaign against the National Democratic Congress party and the incumbent President, John Dramani Mahama come 2016.
According to the spokesperson of the family, they have arrived at the decision due to many empty promises given to the family by the leaders of the present administration.
The Mmrantiehene of Otuam who doubles as a maternal nephew of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, Nana Kojo Mensah speaking to Rainbow Radio said no single promise made to the family has been honoured by President Mahama and his team. Nana Kojo Mensah told Kwame Tutu, host of Rainbow Radio breakfast show that the family is angry with the President of the Republic and his government.
He disclosed that the family is putting things together to exhume the mortal remains of the late President Mills from Accra to be re-buried in his ancestral home town.
Nana Kojo Mensah also disclosed that the family is surprised and worried that no one has told them the cause of the death of their royal.
He noted the family believes there is something fishy about the death of the late President. Nana Kojo Mensah categorically stated that the NDC is a bunch of liars and the family will prevent the party from campaigning close to their traditional area and Mills’s hometown.
