The Metropolitan Companies in Ghana, which are subsidiaries of the Metropolitan and Momentum International (MMI) Holdings on Wednesday, held a broker's summit, to chart a common path with top class insurance Brokerage firms for enhanced business.
Mr Anordus Jakobus Kruger, the Chief Executive Officer and Director of the Group, at the opening said, although a very important commodity, insurance penetration in Ghana was just about two per cent and Brokers play a critical role in this direction.
He said insurance brokers have over the years effectively played the role of middlemen, and have through their operations earned the trust of the public, and were therefore better placed to educate the public on appropriate insurance products to suit their needs.
It was based on this important role that the MMI decided to engage Brokerage companies to educate them on the wide range of its products and services.
The education and information received would be transferred to the public, to boost interest in insurance and enhance the percentage of penetration in the country.
Mr Kruger said the Group, comprising of Metropolitan Life Insurance Ghana Ltd, Metropolitan Pensions Trust Ghana and Metropolitan Health Insurance Ghana, has the vision of becoming the preferred lifetime financial wellness partner, with a reputation for innovation and trustworthiness.
He said the various subsidiaries of MMI were doing very well and were competitively placed to meet all demands of clients including prompt payment of claims.
