PNC gets women executives in Nadowli Constituency

Members of the People’s National Convention (PNC) in the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency in Upper West Region have out-doored its 14- member team of executives with women constituting 43 per cent of the leadership.

The executives were elected last week with six of them being women.

Mr Lawrence Kuubata, was elected as Constituency Chairman, Dandeebo K. Germanus Deputy Chairman, Mr Julius Konnyuuri took the Secretary position with Mr Bayor Pascal as Deputy Secretary.

For the Constituency Organiser, Mr Gyilinaa Ngmieluu would be assisted by Comfort Abontaa while Emelia Adama is incharge as Constituency Women Organiser and Kuukyire Eunice as Deputy Women Organiser.

Vincent Domaninge is the Constituency Youth Organiser and he is being assisted by Gifty Zuuri while the Communication Secretary position would be managed by Aiden Zangu with Desmond Alugimo as his deputy

Jackline Ziema was elected as Constituency Treasurer and Gladys Kwabena as Deputy Treasurer.

Addressing the executives, Mr Bernard Mornah, PNC General Secretary commended the constituency for a successful election and particularly for electing six women.

He said it shows that the party believes in the capability of women, adding that what it means was is that if PNC wins the 2016 general election it would not be difficult to get 40 per cent of women into positions of governance.

Mr Mornah who is also aspiring to become the National Chairman of the PNC noted that the party is looking forward to the Region to elect its constituency executives successfully for it to hold its national delegates congress.

The PNC General Secretary pointed out that the government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has proven that it could not manage the current economic and power crisis as well as the many challenges in the education, health and agric sectors.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has also not demonstrated any character either, citing the current internal wrangling as one bad and a clear example of the fact that Ghanaians could not trust their destiny into the hands of the party.

“The NDC is not able to salvage Ghanaians from the current difficulties and the NPP is not showing any ability either,” he noted.

Mr Mornah said the PNC is now the only alternative for Ghanaians and as a party that shares in the ideologies of Nkrumah, the leaders and the Convention People’s Party have met to initiate moves to merge the two parties to form a formidable force that Ghanaians could trust.

Mr Desmond Twumasi Ntow, aspiring National Organiser of the party said it is time Ghanaians change their perspective of voting and try the PNC as an alternative.
