Metropolitan Insurance Company Limited (MET) has been adjudged Insurance Company of the year, 2002. This is the third in five years MET has won the prestigious award, having previously won it in 1998 and 2000.
MET was one of 24 organizations and individuals honoured at the 14th Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) awards event held at the Accra International Conference Centre recently.
The citation accompanying the award commended the company for its leadership in product innovation, introduction of complaints manual and claims code, improvement in the company's IT capability, as well as its contribution to national development through healthcare financing. MET is currently the second largest insurer in the country in terms of premium income, a position it has occupied since 1999.
