Recent reports that the Black Stars players are yet to receive their winning bonuses after recording a 7-1 win over Mauritius in the 2017 Afcon qualifiers has really startled former Ghana full back John Paintsil, but he still insists that regardless of how the team is frustrated, no government can succeed in disrupting the current team.
According to the former West Ham United defender, because of the unity and professionalism exhibited by the current crop of players, it will be very difficult to get the players off their track.
Speaking to Sportscrusader.com, Paintsil said, “Let me tell you something. This current Black Stars team cannot be distracted by anybody, not even the government; because the players play to make their families and fans happy “.
“The media can put a lot of pressure. The officials can frustrate the team but it does not affect the players at all. Their concentration is to do what all Ghanaians want and win for them. So whatever happens does not affect Black Stars players at all”, he added.
The government has not paid the bonus of the players with the Deputy Sports Minister blaming the GFA for not submitting the budget on time which has been denied by the GFA with documents indicating that the budget was submitted 38 days before the game.
