Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur is pondering over offering a huge financial support to Hearts of Oak in signing players ahead of the start of the new season.
Sources close to the Presidency have revealed the seasoned economist turned politician is ready to dish out a whopping $100,000 as his contribution to the Phobians to make big-name signings.
Amissah Arthur remains a silent participant in the running of the Accra-based club despite being one of the major shareholders along with the likes of board chairman and member Togbe Afede XIV and Frank Nelson respectively.
He is said to have resolved to make this cash injection into the Phobians after board chairman Togbe Afede XIV declared there was no money to sign the big-name signings the fans so crave for.
It is however unclear when the funds will be made available to the club who have been lagging behind in the transfer market and with rivals Asante Kotoko making all the vital signings.
The contribution is however being made in the personal capacity of the Amissah-Arthur and not as Vice President of Ghana.
Hearts in the coming days is thus expected to launch an audacious exercise to sign some of the best players on the local scene once the pledged funds are released to the Phobians.
They will even be looking to sign good enough players in neighbouring countries.
The Hearts fans have been unhappy over their club’s inactivity so far in the transfer market, leading to calls by sections of the supporter’s wing to have the current board sacked.
These calls will however subside once the club begin making the big-name signings with the bailout funds from Ghana’s Vice President.
