Voting for her was a wrong move by the constituency. I want it to be on record that what she will do to the NDC, listening to her comments, will be more than that of the mother Konadu. Her arguments suggest that she support what her mother is doing to the NDC. The NDC must avoid a potential trouble maker within.

I doubt that the lady could overlook such serious position before contesting. She looks intelligent enough not to have skimmed around Ghana's constitution before any undertaking. If she made that mistake, I might find that curious.
On the other hand, as the article rightly points out, the country accepts just any illegality and behaves as if there aren't any education citizens here by stamping the laws. In fact if the lady does that, it would be very regrettable. But then, again, we are in Ghana.

May the gods of make Rawlings suffer a painful emotional stress for the rest of his life for the following reasons:1). Rawlings seized properties of wealthy Akans, particularly Asantes, and distribute it among Votarians and Northerners. Addison of Fanti extraction had his cement factory collapse by Rawlings. B.A Mensah, the father of Herbert Mensah, had all his properties confisticated. Rawlings told Ghanaian not to buy Appiah Minkah's Apino soap. This same idiot forced Poku Transport and scores of others to exile, living their wealth behind, only for his Atinga-Trokosi weedheads to scramble for the spoil. 2). Not satisfied, Rawlings, together with Awonoo and Kojo Tsikata assembled Three Akan judges, including a nursing mother, killed and burnt their bodies to ashes. What a wicked and callous murderer? Again, this same buffoon assembled industrious Akan woman at Markola and Kumasi Central markets, stripped them naked and lashed them in their private parts.
For the above reasons I pity those greedy Akans, particularly Fantis, who are helping the Atinga-Trokosis to steal ghana's oil monies left, right center. What kills me is the 1 million dollars ex gratis paid to Tsatsu. I swear to God if Mahama did not retrieve our monies from Tsatsu and Esther Cobba, the wife he snatched from a colleague worker, we will hund their kids and family members in gorilla warfare, torcher and kill them, the same way Acheampong, Afrifa, Amedome, Utuka and others were mutilated. God bless my homeland Ghana and punish every single member of Mahama family for allowing every one to steal one million dollars free of charge.

ITEM: If you can't get over it, the rest of the country is moving over. Trokosi or not, Atinga or not, no one is suffering for you. Stew some more, baby, and have a nice day grieving!

First of all, the intimation that Zanetor is being given special treatment because of her family is a very childish argument. Nobody, not even her own family, will accept a flouting of laid down regulations in order to promote her candidature. Favouritism cannot include flouting laws that the party being favoured has no control over. If party members vote for her because she is JJ's daughter, that's a different thing. If the party hierarchy succeeds in CONVINCING her opponents to drop out of the race as a favour to her, that's a different thing. But allowing her to break rules that are not set by NDC cannot be a favour.
If she is disqualified early enough, nothing prevents her from becoming a registered voter and filing in papers as an independent candidate, even though one aligned to the NDC, if the time allows her.
Thirdly, it is not accurate, the refer to Rawlings as the founder of NDC. It is better to refer to him as one of the founders or the man around him the party was founded. The NDC came about as the result of a collective effort by a number of people who thought JJ would be the best to lead such an effort. The idea of forming NDC never germinated from Rawlings' mind. Ask people like Obed Asamoah if Rawlings formed NDC and he will tell you no.
Is it an electoral offence to use money to influence people to vote in a particular way? Do you happen to know the relevant law, by law or regulation controlling that? It is certainly unethical but what are the specific laws one may cite?
I've seen you were in a huge hurry to dispatch this article to ghanaweb and left too many petty errors in place. Why the hurry?

Even if Dr. Rawlings' name is not in the register, the fact that she has been voted for by her party supporters serves the ultimate democratic end. Under that circumstance, the registration becomes a minor technicality for which the highjackers of democracy are attempting to thwart the people's choice. I would not condone such mischief.
The woman has been elected to represent the NDC, and so be it. End of matter. The EC should thus construe the law to accommodate her situation even if she is not registered at present. Elsewhere, voter registration occurs throughout the year.....,
I write as one who hates the Rawlingses but loves democracy.

MASSA KOFI, I'm not sure whether this lawsuit is a dirty tricks campaign to derail Dr Zanetor's hopes of becoming an MP or there's a genuine concern, and imperative for Ghana's democratic process. Whichever way, I'm sure the court will dismiss the suit challenging Dr Zanetor's eligibility to contest 2016 General Election.
Of course, the fact that Dr Zanetor is the daughter of ex-President Jerry John Rawlings of Ghana and leading figure in NDC, should not make her intentionally and recklessly disregard the country's constitutional eligibility requirements. However, until documents are provided and verified, this is, of course, pure speculation.
After all, what is the point of vetting? Dr Zanetor went through the NDC vetting procedure. She was certainly approved by the NDC HQ. This suggests she met all constitutional eligibility requirements as a citizen of Ghana and registered member of the NDC party. Being the daughter of the Rawlingses, I'm sure the NDC HQ knew she would come under public scrutiny and Dr Zanetor and her parents know this. So I'm sure steps were taken to ensure she met all the criteria and conditions of the party selection process and constitutional requirements. This is because if in fact, Dr Zanetor was simply 'pushed through' when she didn't actually qualified to do so, the NDC party and the Rawlingses must surely know the implications of that.
Dr Zanetor was democratically selected/voted by the Korle Klottey constituency party membership as a Parliamentary candidate for the 2016 Gneral Election. The issue that her name did not show on the voters' register is not a measure of her 'ineligibility'. It could be an administrative error. Something the EC could easily rectify.
I have the hunch that she she is not a registered voter, but discredited EC will somehow have her name in the register.
