Prof. Lungu mind you English and stop polluting your readers with nonsense.
Read yourself in your 2nd paragraph. Besides don't forget to use your real Asante name instead of the fake Prof Lungu, since when did you become a professor?
Prof Lungu's 2 paragraph:(stinking English)
"In the spirit of Ghana-centeredness, there are areas with straight-forward, pedestrian, political party repercussions we avoid writing about. However, when a politicians makes outrageous claims without regard to truth, commonsense, and respect for the voter, we respond at a time and place of our own choosing."

A monolingual native speaker even makes horrible mistakes in using English. Who am I to condemn anybody.
Readers can easily cross-check facts to see the IP address of this imposter (even the spelling of this word isn't set in stone; it could be "impostor" or "imposter") to know that this senseless response isn't mine.
Those dimwits happily using others' names for their mischief in cyberspace are pitiable.
In most cases, they turn out to be ignorant and really stupid NPP buffs who deceive themselves that their personal attacks will silence us, the avowed critics of their useless "Mate Me Ho" cultic cause. They lie bad!!
Intelligent readers can easily check IP addresses to see the difference!!

For all you know, some international economists refer to Bawumia as a "theory economist ".He is misleading our country, period!

I think the writer has completely lost the points Dr. Bawumia made. However, fact is not all people can read and understand.
Dr. Bawumia brought his message clearly to people with a certain level of I.Q.

Muhamadu Bawumia is playing politics and nobody should take anything he says about Ghana's economy seriously.
The NPP people are touting him as a world-renowned economist for their political gains even though they, themselves, know he is no world renowned economist.
Muhamadu has only three published papers to his name and NONE of these is in a prestigious journal (the so-called A journals in the field) as well as one or two book chapters. Even those published papers were co-authored.
Muhamadu has written several papers when he was with the Bank of Ghana. These were all internal working papers that were not peer reviewed and so never published. In academics, non-peer reviewed papers don't count!!!
Muhamadu's appointment as deputy governor of Bank of Ghana was a purely political who-you-know dadaba appointment. He was appointed over many of his seniors who were better than him because of his connections. His father was a founding member of the Danquah-Busia (forget about Dombo) coalition. His father was a founding member of the Northern Peoples Party and Muhamadu benefited a lot from his father's provenance. He did not attend university in Ghana because he could afford to go abroad after his secondary school.
I am not saying Muhamadu Bawumia is dumb or not brilliant. He was a good student but he was not the only Ghanaian who was a good student in Economics. There are many, including the present governor of the Bank of Ghana - a very brilliant guy in his student days even though his performance as governor today isn't good but that is a different matter.
So, therefore, Prof Lungu, don't give too much credit to Muhamadu Bawumia. I bet he knows no more economics than you, Lungu. He is just allowing himself to be used for political gains by people who will drop him immediately they no longer need him
After all, Akufo-Addo did Economics at Legon (third class). Why is he not the one talking about the economy?
We Ghanaians should endeavour not to be deceived by our politicians, whether they are NPP or NDC!!!

Godd,
The little we know, Dr. Bawumia has not worked much in the academy since earning his terminal degree. He has therefore, been mostly an "economics practitioner".
As a result, we would be interested in knowing what process improvements, to include enterprise alignments, etc., he was directly responsible for implementing "on the job" over the years.
In the US, with that pithy work experience, Bawumia would never have gotten into an executive position at any of the federal reserve banks, let alone the Central Bank, and as Deputy.
To the point, Bawumia's degree and 4-year odd work experience would only have qualified him for GS-11 position, with a potential promotion to GS-12, if he was lucky and still as brilliant as you discuss.
At those "high level" jobs he was assigned by fiat, as you discuss, and the fact that he is running to be Vice President of Ghana, "spoken words", and "written words" on matters bothering on policy and governance are not missed by other "important" people, inside/outside Ghana, among them critique like you.
We address some of those points in Part 2.0 of this 2-part essay.
Thanks for your comment.
Greetings.

We know that they won the election in 2000, and the data Bawumia presented in the paper we referenced starts with 2000 data.
Though a small matter, this goes to further undermine Bawumia's 500% "growth under the NPP" nonetheless. Because, we can now surely utilize the 2000 data as the single point baseline, non-NPP performance.
