In-form Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew believes the side is beginning to peak at the right time to start delivering vital win starting off with their Boxing Day clash with West Ham.

The Ghana international has by miles been the brightest spot for the struggling Villa side.

Jordan scored from a spectacular individual effort on Saturday to salvage a point for Remi Garde’s side at Newcastle in a 1-1 draw.

The former Lorient man who was the main man in Villa’s impressive second half display against the Magpies now expects the sustenance of this performance to get a vital win over West Ham on Saturday.

“I think we’re getting better and better,” he said.

“We are aiming for three points in the next game now. Then we will start again in the next match.

“I think we’ve been working hard all season – showing that fighting spirit – but the luck hasn’t been on our side.

“Now things are changing bit by bit. We have to keep on this direction and hopefully this coming weekend will be a very nice present for our supporters and the club
