Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has lauded his coach’s tactics after finding the back of the net in his side’s 2-0 win over Hellas Verona on Sunday.

The Ghanaian opened the scoring at the Stadio Communale Fruili on 31 minutes after being set up by captain Antonio Di Natale, before Cyril Thereau added the second in the 56th minute.

The goal was the 25-year-old’s fourth strike of the season, having made 24 Serie A appearances.

“I am grateful to my team-mates and the supporters, the biggest thing is, they have always supported us,” Badu told his club’s official website.

“We won but we must remain united and focused.

“I have played with the 4-3-3 also with the national side so I am used to it. I thank my team and the coach [Stefano Colantuono] for choosing this system and for the way it has been interpreted.

“We need to work quietly and think about the next game against Frosinone. No team in the Italian league is easy. We know that it will be a difficult race but we have to be aggressive and play as we know.

“But we must not give up. There are 12 more matches, and our season begins today.”

Badu joined Udinese in January 2010 from local side Berekum Arsenal after helping Ghana lift the 2009 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Egypt.

Udinese currently lie 14th on the league log.
