This is a very stupid idea ,how can you get up one day and put a ban on it. How do you expect the farmers to feed their families. This govt and his ministers have no clue what they are doing.

The export window is introduced after in depth consultation with the industry including NGOs, Traders and farmers. Talking without facts is the real stupid idea.

Again, this is talking without knowing the facts. Do you know that all the other countries around Ghana have policies similar to this? All they all wrong?

There are countries having the dead penalty, does that make the dead penalty a good thing? Free atrade without any obstacles is the solution. Face it the over capacity in Ghana was created by under capacity and trouble s in ibery coast. The statement made by the trader, Mr. Mumuni Issah is totally wrong. Firstly 950,000 bags equals to 76,000 metric tons while Ghana only produces 60,000 metric tons. Secondly, we at Mim cashew is to process 5,500 metric tons in 2016 which is equals to 68,750 bags while Usibras is about 3 times of our facility. Mr. Mumuni Issah is a trader who is indebted to Mim Cashew for over GHS17,000 as he failed to deliver the RCN to us last year. The statement made by Mr Mumuni Issah is without facts and figures. We have not reduced a single peswas since the introduction of the Export Window nor we intend to unless there is a clear case of quality reduction. We are at a loss why the media have not tried to get the other side of the story as a balance.

Wont it be sensible to invite the so called media to your outfit to debunk Mr. Issah's allegation? My friend get lost with your defenseless attitude.

The ban on the export of a commodity does not affect its international buying price, thus cashew not processing companies will continue to buy it at the world market price. This absurdity by some of our law makers have brought to the fore that they are not in parliament to seek the interest of the country, but that of foreign countries and their companies.
A lot of products are derived from cashew nut - juice, oil, fat for the soap industry and others. So why do we go on exporting the fruit with the nut so that others make super profit at our expense. Those parliamentarian must stop the absurdity.
