The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has advised the media not to offer their platforms to persons, who incite violence.
The call comes in the wake of seeming tension ahead of the general elections in November.
There have been allegations and counter allegations on varied issues from the various political parties.
Speaking to Class News, a member of the CCG, Most Reverend Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle said the media should focus more on people with substance, who will promote peace than those, who chant war songs.
“Do not let us air those who are breathing fire and brimstone. Let us go and talk to a whole lot of the wise people, sensible people who are talking about peace, who are talking about differences of opinion but not being enemies, who are talking about educating our people to learn to live together, peaceful co-existence between religions, between different political parties, between tribal groups and all of the rest,” Catholic Archbishop of Accra stated.
“Let us air the more positive people out there. We are sometimes easily tempted to give the airwaves to people whose voices are too loud.”
