Five DCEs removed from office...eight new ones nominated
Accra, Sept. 11, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor has removed four District Chief Executives from office and nominated eight others to be confirmed by their respective District Assemblies.

A statement signed by Mr Kwadwo Adjei-Darko, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development named those removed as: Mr Seth Akwensivie Asorwor, Kpando District Assembly, Mr Daniel Kwadu Eworyi, South Tongu; Mr Sam Akati Mahama, Bole and Mr Samuel Nyatsomnu Kwabena Blagodzi of Nkwanta District Assembly.

Mr Eworyi was recently criticised for banning hawkers from selling for three days on the Sogakofe Bridge for allegedly hooting at President Kufuor, while he was travelling to Keta.

Those nominated are: Mr Martin Ackah, Jomoro; Mr Robert Quainoo Arthur, Mfantsiman; Mr Solomon Kwame Donkor, Jasikan; Mr Azuma Namoro Sanda, Saboba; Mr Pius Kwame Adanuti, Kpando; Ms Cate Aku Aglah, South Tongu; Mr Sulemana Adams Achanso, Bole and Stanley Nana Kofi Inorkpor for Nkwanta.
