Customarily, just as the Okyenhene wouldn't expect Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the Asantehene himself to rise up and bow to him, why should the Okyenhene's entourage demand that Otumfuo's representative, Oheneba Kwadwo Afudour and his entourage rise up to Okyenhene?

I hope the principals of the agent provocateurs, who engaged in that kind of needless attack, would, as a matter of common decency, consider replacing the Fomtomfrom drums that were destroyed, before anybody can talk about a rapprochement!
In any event, the subtle suggestion of dealings amongst equals is blasphemous, grotesque, and preposterous, in my view!
Manhyia has more important things to do than engage in such useless 'palace diplomacy'.

Asantehene has no co equal! In principle the privileges due the Asantehene SHALL NOT be downgraded because an emissary was sent. Besides the timing of the disrespect of the Okyehene would have a high price

Okyehene is only the overlord of Akyem Abuakwa not the entire Akyeman.

How does Tafohene come in to ensure that both his overlord and the Asante delegation are seated at the same time? How can you mistake Asantehene's representative to be the same as Asantehene? And what does it take to stand up for the sake of courtesy?
I am an Asante myself, but even if Asantehene had attended the funeral, he should have risen at the appearance of Okyenhene insofar as he was on Akyem land. And that is the sort of courtesy that would have added to the dignity and wisdom of Otumfuor.
Those that refused to stand when the King approached were wrong; and so also were those of Okyenhene's followers who went on the rampage.
If our tradition of chieftaincy were to survive or thrive, it should be able to accommodate trite issues such as the one that occurred.
And here is stupid Okoampa- Ahoofe barking up the wrong tree!
