Accra, Oct. 17, GNA - The leader of the Guinea-Bissau interim government, Henrique Pereira Rosa, left Accra this morning after a day's visit.

During a pre-departure interview with journalists, the interim leader said the visit, which was an occasion for him to brief president Kufuor in his capacity as ECOWAS Chairman on the political situation in Guinea-Bissau had been successful.

He said president Kufuor took the concern of the Guinean people in good faith and assured them of ECOWAS' readiness to ensure a stable political atmosphere in that country.

Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas, Executive Secretary of ECOWAS, who accompanied the Guinean leader, said ECOWAS had confidence in the ability of the interim government to steer the affairs of the country. He said what was most needed now was to mobilize the required resources to create a stable political atmosphere in Guinea-Bissau. The Guinean leader is on a three nation West African tour and is expected to continue to Nigeria and Niger.

At the Airport to see him off, were Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and some officials of the Ministry.
