The Amanano Rural Bank Limited at Nyinahin in the Atwima Mponua district of Ashanti Region has officially opened its Abuakwa branch in a brief but colourful ceremony at Kumasi.

This brings to six the number of branches currently being operated by the bank. The branches are Nyinahin, Bibiani, Afful Nkwanta, Mbrom, Tafo and the newly inaugurated Abuakwa branch.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Anthony Kwame Gyan, in an address expressed his profound appreciation to shareholders and customers of the bank for their show of loyalty, and said this has resulted in the bank’s current growth and tremendous performance.

According to him, opening a branch at Abuakwa was a strategic decision taken by the board of directors. This is because the Abuakwa Township is linked to two major cities in the country, and has a sizeable population with a lot of businessmen and women as well as government workers.

“We are aware of the number of financial institutions in and around Abuakwa, but we are poised to penetrate the market while introducing cutting-edge financial solutions” he stressed.

He advised small business operators within and around Abuakwa to take advantage of the bank’s presence and its product and services to grow and expand their businesses.

“The bank is for you, and we have put together products and services tailored to meet your business needs. Also, we want you to take advantage of the bank’s share offer and purchase shares as a means to your financial security.”

The Gyaasehene of Abuakwa, Nana Baffour Kyei Mensah who cut the tape to officially open the branch, was very grateful to the bank for siting one of its branches in the Abuakwa Community.

According to him, he is very familiar with the seriousness with which managers and staff of the bank do their work, and urged them not to rest on their oars but continue to work much harder to improve their operational performance.

The Kumasi branch Manager of ARB Apex Bank Limited, Mr. George Kweku Annor, on behalf of Managing Director of Apex Bank Mr. Kwadwo Aye-Kusi congratulated the board and management of Amanano Rural Bank for the impressive operational performance and consistent growth over the years.

The Managing Director has therefore told management and staff of the bank to uphold the excellent customer service that has been the hallmark of the rural banking industry.

He further advised management and staff of the bank to maintain a culture of maintenance to keep the newly inaugurated Abuakwa branch in good condition at all times.

In an interview Business & Financial Times, General Manager of the bank Noble Christian Osei-Bonsu said he and his management team will not relent in their efforts to continue improving their operations. He was proud to announce the successes that have been achieved by the bank.

He mentioned the bank’s membership in the Prestigious Ghana Club 100 since its inception, and the impressive positions it has held.

The bank was adjudged Most Innovative & Customer Friendly Rural Bank in Ghana, which was awarded by the West African Intra-communications Group - Publisher of The New Ghanaian Magazine; and Best Rural Bank in Advisory Services, Bronze Award by the Ashanti Financial Services Excellence Awards - organised under the Auspices of the Manhyia Palace.
